The Micromount Club Facebook Group conducts regular Zoom meetings on various aspects of minerals, mineralogy, mineral locations, and so on. I started these as a way to keep mineral-minded people connected at the beginning of the Covid pandemic, and have continued ever since. Participants join from all over the world.
These sessions are currently held on a monthly basis, 6am on the third Wednesday of each month (my time). Details of upcoming sessions, and registration links, are available at crocoite.com. You can watch most past sessions on the Micromount Club Playlist my YouTube channel.
Gerhard Brandstetter presented the Schwaz-Brixlegg mining district in Tyrol, Austria at this month’s Micromount Club Zoom meeting. You can watch the video here.
Gerhard described many of the secondary minerals, particularly copper species, from the various deposits in this region. His photographs are excellent as I am sure you will agree. Some are shown below. This region also includes Mockleiten, where fantastic curly malachites are found.
I love the photo samples.
Wow! What a lot of fine, interesting minerals! Thanks!
