Some sad news. I have just heard that Melbourne collector Jo Price has passed away.
Jo was a long-time member of the Mineralogical Society of Victoria micro-mineral group. She enjoyed collecting and swapping specimens, and her collection contained a large range of minerals from Australian and overseas localities.
A number of years ago, Jo got in touch with me. She was about to move into smaller accommodation, and wanted to pass on some of her micro mineral collection. I purchased a few thousand micros from her. The remainder of her collection was donated to the Mineralogical Society of Victoria in the last year, and is currently being dispersed.
A few of Jo’s micros are shown below, now in my collection.
RIP Jo Price.

Thank goodness her collection has ended up in caring hands.
So sad to hear she was a lovely person and the first person in Australia that I exchanged micros with.I had the privilege to see her collection once in Gisborne. It was impressive. She will be missed by all.
